ERICAS
ERICAS (Evidence Review on Cardiometabolic Observational Studies) is funded through an unrestricted educational grant provided by AstraZeneca.
The aim of ERICAS is to provide contemporary good quality real world evidence on cardiometabolic medicine from published biomedical literature.
Real world evidence from observational studies reflects what happens in the clinical setting, without the stringent inclusion/exclusion criteria and additional monitoring of clinical trials. However, there are so many real-world studies in the literature that it is difficult to keep up-to-date with the latest good quality real-world evidence. To address this need, we have developed the first global library of ‘real-world’ evidence about cardiometabolic diseases called ERICAS.
We utilise a search algorithm to identify newly published observational studies in cardiometabolic medicine. We quality assess the studies and only include those of good quality on the ERICAS website. A least one member of our expert clinical panel reviews the study for its relevance, innovativeness and clinical applicability. Our website also has information about our assessment tools, training, blogs, ‘most read’ articles and guest slots.
